Stay on target...

The ‘character’ part is very key. I drive deathtraps, but only deathtraps with character.

My taxes stayed about the same, but my deductions were less. I’m sure the Walton family will enjoy building a few extra mansions though.

I don’t care either. We drive a Nissan Leaf and a Model 3. Both powered using our solar panels (sort of). I’m voting to keep CA’s gas tax!

Gasoline here in Houston is 60 cents per gallon more now than it was when President Trump took office. That means the annual increase in fuel costs is more than the tax cut I got.

That’s why you never give the cops your passcode. Don’t incriminate yourselves, kidskids.

That’s true. But it’s also true that focusing on individual incidents is not the best way to evaluate the system, but it is going to dominate public opinion.

If a system has 50% fewer accidents per mile driven than human drivers (and I have no idea if it does), then it’s a useful system *even if* accidents like this

Yes but it doesn’t forward the anti-Musk and anti-self driving car narative in the news.

the issue here is the driver isn’t it? They trust the software and hardware so much they give their life to it as beta tester. But instead of beta tester... they treat it like it is a perfect finished product.

The dumbass ADMITTED to using Autopilot and looking at her phone at 60mph?

The driver admitted that she was looking at her smartphone instead of the road. This accident was completely the driver’s fault. Next case.

For all its faults, the Dodge Journey is still several orders of magnitude better than any vehicle you own, David.

Does what it says on the box. I don’t see what’s wrong with that. At least ours works. Looking at you Ford Powershift.

Nobody is saying anyone deserves to die. This is a fallacy invoked for the sake of histrionics and nothing more.

Now playing

Even Netflix has this to prevent you from accidentally watching 13 episodes of Breaking Bad because you fell asleep, and nobody’s life is on the line there.

This is a case of the equipment being superior to the operator. I have a fob system, have not died because of it. Also parked in a garage successfully and somehow did not fill the house up with poisonous gas.

they’ve unwittingly left a car running in a garage, filling their homes with carbon monoxide gas, killing them.
