I don’t really know why but I find her press conferences terrifying.

Fuck you Sarah, and your boss too.

I’m not quite sure what some women think empowerment really is. Seems to me like someone’s mind is clearly mangled.

It’s interesting that they used the rhetoric of empowerment while being branded, as part of induction into a cult in which they were sex slaves, probably one of the least empowered states a woman could find herself in.

According to the closed captions, they definitely announced Odette’s name. Unless it was another Odette!

I’m confused about Odette’s death, too. She stayed all night to find a photo of her in the logs, but they also announced her name with the others killed in the bombing. How does that make sense? Also, how does Moira have a photo of her and Odette? She escaped the Red Center, I hardly think she had a flash drive on her

Least surprising newly-revealed fact? They’re into Ayn Rand. Of course they are.

So, a joke about turning lies into eyeshadow is a disgusting insult to “a wife and mother” but making racist comparisons and repeating anti-semitic conspiracy theories is just raunchy fun? Just trying to keep up with where conservatives have the line drawn today...

When my mom was pregnant and on bed rest my father ran up all her credit cards, emptied her bank account, said he didn’t feel like doing this anymore walked out and never came back.

The context? His being an Afrikaner, for instance?

The point is that Elon Musk either didn’t know he was dog whistling, in which case he’s severely lacking in his understanding of media history and context for someone who wants to criticize the industry, or he did know he was dog whistling. Either way it was very bad.

It also ignores the fact that most people who are on WIC/SNAP/EBT and who are using Medicaid and the like are actually working and are gainfully employed. They’re just not making enough to make ends meet. So you end up this constantly self-defeating cycle of barely having enough money to live but not having enough

I would have taken the 12 dollars in items added them to my stuff paid for them. If she gave me any grief I then I would get the manager and at the top of my lungs tell them this cashier was telling me what i could and couldn’t buy and launching into a tirade about it being anti-American and asking if Albertsons is

I love this line from Atlanta because it absolutely captures what it’s like to be poor:

Because people like the cashier consider it a moral failing to be poor. I can’t count the number of times I heard someone say, “Why are they on welfare? Why can’t they get off their lazy asses and work?” So I have to haul out the PowerPoint and teach them, again, that it’s FUCKING EXPENSIVE TO BE POOR. It costs time,

Thank you for this. I don’t have any first-hand experience with WIC, nor do I judge those who do (as I’ve had my own fair share of poverty and financial assistance), but it’s so necessary some times to understand what other people have to endure just to get barely by.

Yeah, I’ve been on WIC.

Wow, Managers dont have the ability to fire people? Sounds like bullshit

If not her, I am sure with some people that she works with.
