I use ebay frequently but almost exclusively on buy it now items. It saves a fair penny for my business. Not too interested in auctions but I’ll occasionally place a highest bid and not look back if I’m out bid.

We bought an Abarth right before my son was born and it was the best decision we’ve done car wise.
Whatever you think children are, you are wrong. You don’t need the massive amount of silly space that CUV/Minivan culture leads you to believe.

Being from England, a Golf is the average sized car and for 99% of all occasions it’s enough space. I don’t understand why in the US having one kid people switch from e.g. a Golf to a 7 seater SUV. It’s stupid.

Hyundai dealerships aren’t a whole lot better.

Was THIS close to buying a Sorento from Glendale KIA with cash. Then the shenanigans started and we booked it out of there and bought a used BMW X5 for much less. Insane way to run a dealership. Is it not possible to treat the cash buyer with a little more respect than the bottom level credit score buyer?

This happened to us a couple years ago when we were looking for an SUV for my wife. Her finalists were the Sorrento and the Highlander. Sorrento was a bit better deal and she liked the interior look more, so we scheduled a time to go in, checkbook in hand, to complete the transaction. Instead of the price we’d been

Kia dealers are going to kill Kia. It’s one reason I won’t consider one. It’s been that way for a long time, but traditionally, Kia dealers catered to people who were either dead-set on a value-oriented product, or people who had no choice. Those people weren’t too picky about the experience. Now that they have cars

“NOooo the air conditioning is on! Jesus,  Ernesto!”

What advantage does this automobile have over, say, a train, which I could also afford?

If you have a modern car that rarely pops up on Barrett Jackson / Mecum, you know why BaT is superior:

I was at Mecum this weekend, looking at a car I was seriously considering buying. Then I realized that needed to (a) buy a bid card for $2-500, (b) get pre approved as a bidder with proof of funds (c) figure out how to deal with a live auction, (d) somehow wire funds THAT DAY (Saturday) to pay for a car. In terms of

I think we should all chip in and buy this property for David Tracy to store his Jeep collection and start a museum.

There is no point in owning one unless you have a dock with a dedicated lift. It’s a sad sight to see someone backing down a public boat launch with a single jet-ski, and then like 3 people get out of the car. That is never a good look. It’s so humiliating that even their shoulders are slumped.

The amount of gear you can fit in a touring bus is huge. Loading all that stuff on an airplane.. no. Plus no touring musician should ever get in a small plane, helicopter or on a commercial flight. Just give up flying.

should people really be continuing like nothing’s wrong?”

The solution is to make the tag’s owner registered before it can be used.

But they *should* have. Source: Upstate New York. People that say they don’t need winter tires have never driven on winter tires.

They really need to stop calling them “all seasons” because they’re just not. 3 seasons at best.

That "all season" tires are fine in the winter. No, no they are not.
