I bought a 2012 GTI Autobahn edition back in 2013. It was slightly used, but less than a year old and was my first “newish” car after owning nothing but hoopties previously. The car was immensely enjoyable, the handling unbelievably tight, the interior oozed quality. I liked how well put together it was: No rattles,

Don’t forget the Land Cruiser. :’(

I have one of these in my GTA Online garage. It ran when parked... three years ago.

Despite being a tech enthusiast who surrounds myself with fancy gadgets, I do not like touchscreens in cars at all. I would much rather have buttons, switches, and knobs — tactile experiences. Why? Several reasons:

- As mentioned in the article, touch screens have unacceptable lag (even if only a quarter of a second,

It’s a test unit, it’s designed to identify problems for correction before they go into production. Not that big of a deal imo...

I rather enjoyed my 2012 GTI Autobahn while I owned it, and would consider another VW again downstream. Interior quality and enjoyment was top notch. That said, I’m not going to be an early adopter of their EV tech. I’ll let things shake out for a while.

I live in NY and simply don’t run a front plate on some of my vehicles. They tend not to care about exotic cars or lifted off-roaders, nearly as much as they profile other car types for example ricers. I’m not claiming I will never get pulled over, but I’m honestly not going to change my behavior due to a fix-it fine

Good news! The Dacia Sandero!

I love everything about this, and then made myself sad because I can’t own one.

Which is why you place a “I really like how your dealership has always been great at answers customer’s questions over email, and doesn’t use sleazy tactics like ‘come on in for a test drive and we’ll talk’ like your competition down the road. Those guys always scare me away from a sale.” in your initial contact email.

That plastic isn’t a bumper, it’s a bumper cover. It’s for reduced drag.

Another very successful prevention technique is spraying the clean undercarriage with Fluid Film in the fall.

A new, and modern, car wash will use advanced filtration systems including reverse osmosis. Your worry becomes one of the past.

65 mph is already terrifying in a wobbly unresponsive 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 100+ must feel like re-entering Earth’s atmosphere in Space Shuttle Challenger.

Bring back affordable front and rear solid axle SUVs. :(

The X5 is a bit too big (and non-sporty) for me. I can compromise on the AWD, but not anything else. I’m currently searching for a 2008-2011 Saab 9-3 SportCombi M/T or 328xi M/T wagon.

All I want is a manual transmission AWD sport-wagon with a leather interior and a sunroof. Impossible to find. :(

Never test drive with the dealer sales person in the guy, if they won’t let you test solo, walk away. Take it for a test drive to an independent shop for a PPI.

Ban speed limits. Drive to the conditions and the vehicle. These cars have far superior handling and braking capabilities than the sluggish turds these speed limits were devised around in the 1950's-60's.

Have you been to the past two NY Gambler events? Sure it’s not nearly the size of the Detroit event but the vehicles were just as mad. And in terms of sketch-factor there were frames held together with ratchet straps, vehicles catching on fire, floors falling out of the bottom of a bus...
