The women on our soccer and softball teams were huge handicaps. They struck out in softball (they were given 5 strikes just for being girls) often. They couldn’t field, pass, or do anything effective. I joined co-ed sports to hang with friends and co-workers but to also compete in something and try to win.

If there’s so many interested women who play said sports, why is there no all-women league? It makes no sense if there are that many women who want to play a recreational sport.  Also, do these teams practice together or just play games together?  I suspect a large part of not passing, or involving women into the team

A friend of [the bride] was walking around the wedding with a cane, because she had just torn her ACL in a co-ed soccer league, because a guy fucking tackled her.”

Ok so if playing with guys isn’t fun, then wouldn’t the solution be: don’t play with guys? I’m not getting it.

OK so you dislike rules that enforce minimum women to play, and also dislike the fact that leagues without these rules tend to have no women playing.... What is your preferred ideal league rule set?

Then don’t play in them? There are women only leagues. What I don’t get is the same people that push the women and men are squarely equal narrative are the same ones that write the articles complaining about imbalance. Guess what - women can’t compete with men in basketball - the physical attributes between men and

It’s weaponizing zero-tolerance policies, only it’s being done by the people that the policies were intended to muzzle. And the frustrating thing is that we’ve known for a long time that this was a cultural vulnerability.

to use this edgelord nonsense to get his foot in the door- his entire career likely stems from that

Yeah, this stuff was all public and (while gross) NONE of it was illegal, unlike the actual rape and harassment exposed by #MeToo. I find it interesting that Jezebel staff are doing Cernovich’s job for him by failing to report where these accusations are coming from. At the very least it’s unbelievably shoddy

I’m not saying there aren’t things to worry about in the media and art. Like yes we should bring light to the Harvey Weistiens or Louis CKs of the entertainment industry. But in the process of that, people forgot to scoop the babies out of the bathwater. I’m still mad Aziz Ansari is having rebuild his career because

At the risk of sounding like an asshole (I agree with everything you said, and I’m not attacking you for using this phrase, I just usually see it used by people I’m arguing against, and therefore don’t have the patience to go on a tangent) can we be done with the phrase “seems like a weird hill to die on”? I heard

Cool, cool. Well, the good news for you is that it’s very easy to avoid that kind of comedy.

Dan Harmon actually gave one of the best and heartfelt apologies about his sexist predatory behavior in a way I think few people here could really do in terms of their own mistakes and bad behavior. He went deep into his own fucked up mind to explain his behavior, and still made it very clear none of that explanation

I think the important detail is that this stuff is being dredged up in bad faith. It’s cynical people looking at what they perceive to be some kind of SJW outrage culture and hitching on to that in an attempt to pin corporations that aren’t interested in political nuance into punishing people. I’d bet there is a

Hot take: anyone who racks up a $100+ bill and doesn’t tip actually should be banned from said restaurant (if it is true they didn’t tip).

There now exists a breed of human who only exists to be offended. Its is their oxygen and it is a fashion statement.

This is that fucking coon shit that makes things worse for everybody.

My best bet is that he was pissed he didn’t get a tip on such a huge bill. That was $20+ coming out of his pocket. Not saying what he did was right, just that I could understand making some stuff up in a fit of rage.

Read the comments on the original story the hatred and the division caused by it. And now this retraction is nothing but a “whoopsie”. The damage done by these false reports and the way the “news” is being presented is causing damage to the fabric of society and sewing the seeds of contempt between groups. Remember
