Later seasons of Top Gear had fewer episodes, but they’d two two seasons in a twelve month period. The first six seasons had ~10 episodes per, after that they started doing ~14 per 12 month period, not always a year, between two seasons.
I think MOST regular day to day cars have reached this point. They’ve advanced sufficiently to the point that any further improvement will go largely unnoticed by the average consumer. Instead now it’s just a rush to cram as many electronic features into the thing.
