Wow. That's some reeeeally unconvincing body paint.

Yeah, let's all collectively agree to go back to Bildungsroman.

Damien Hirst is a piece of shit hack who's made millions off of rich dumbasses, and I'm saddened to find out David Bowie was one of them. That turntable and sofa are both amazing, though.

The first time I ever had sex, afterward the guy informed 15 year old me that in his view, it "didn't count" because he hadn't come. Fun, not at all mind-warping times!!!

The third book is explicitly concerned with the ancestry of the characters (not just the Murrys) in a kind of icky way. But yeah, it really has no bearing on A Wrinkle in Time whatsoever.

I think making the Murray kids biracial is a brilliant move that will throw some of their key character traits into sharp relief, like Meg's low self esteem and envy of her mother's looks or the twins' determination to be seem as normal.

I always loved A Swiftly Tilting Planet best out of the series when I was a kid, and when I recently reread it I was surprised and disappointed by the implicit racism. I doubt it was conscious of L'Engle's part, but the implications of the plot were pretty fucked up.

Thanks for recommending that Unscrewed episode, I just listened to it on my way home. Really interesting!

Upvoted for that smooth Modern Lovers reference.

Oh, I know actually touching him would require several showers and run the risk that he might say something, but he is basement-floodingly fine in that video.

I'm gonna be honest with you, Rod. You look like a giant eagle with fire all around you, and you've got a mountain for a face

I can't believe I haven't seen Star Trek Beyond yet. Maybe I'll go see it at the cheap theater tomorrow.

I have a terrible weakness for fit men with bad tattoos and unwashed beards (basically bike messengers), so sadly this only makes him more attractive to me.

Millie Bobby Brown is my favorite actor's name since Lou Taylor Pucci. I was all set to name my new kitten Millie Bobby in her honor, but I ended up getting a boy kitten unexpectedly. His name is Donut. I was unprepared.

Did he? That's fantastic.

Pretzels is the same.

Probably the novel Landscape: Memory by Matthew Stadler, which is my favorite book. Also, Maasaki Yuasa's Mind Game, guaranteed to get me out of any doldrums with its completely nuts, bizarrely uplifting ending.

For me, it was Sinnerman in the climactic scene of the Thomas Crowne Affiair remake (although I actually quite like that movie).

Cartoon food always looks so delicious.
