I've never seen The Birdcage, mostly because I had seen La Cage Aux Folles a couple times already (thanks, high school French class) and assumed that the American remake would be pandering, like you said. Now it's one of the many Robin Williams movies I've never seen that will be really hard to see for the first time

Seriously. The fact that he's now led two $200+ million tentpole flicks with a collective wet fart for box office returns is just evidence that the American public doesn't know what's good for us, I guess.

The rhetoric that goes around about how audiences just don't want to see movies with female leads any time one isn't a huge smash is so frustrating.

Truly, 2002 was a more innocent time.

I doubt there's much out there in the way of statistics, but I can assure you that women can be just as sexually coercive and violent as men, and that includes lesbians.

To be fair, Erik Adams didn't write that review, so it's not like he's going back on his own previously stated opinion.

But…but…they're chicks. Who happened to be involved with those dudes I like who are dead now. Coincidence?? I think not.

It's says it's going to be free, though. And it seems more like an online resource/community than anything approaching an actual school. Personally, I think it could be really cool. I would have loved something like this in high school.

ah, i can hear Tim Allen's voice now…

u havin a fukin giggle m8?

Yup. It's a good way to weed out sociopaths.

Well, as long as you aren't like me and don't end up dating people you're incompatible with for months because you find it impossible to break off anything…spending a little more time together to see how you feel couldn't hurt!

The question "Do you think there are situations where another person owes you sex?" (paraphrased) is a good one for spotting red flags.

A fair number of women I know think that vulvas (including/especially their own vulva) are gross looking, and don't expect guys to be into them aesthetically. That's a whole 'nother bag of body issues though.

He was credited as Lou Pucci for his first couple of roles. I have yet to forgive him for adding the Taylor.

Ugh. Flashbacks to dating somebody terrible who was just like that.

I just realized that my real name should put me squarely in Hufflepuff, which is good since it's the only house that's not for assholes.

I'll say this: I watched Rosemary's Baby for the first time last year, though I am generally in the "I don't want to support him by watching his films" camp. I don't remember exactly what my thought process was- I guess as I horror fan I thought I should see it once.

Oh god, the crew of sycophants. Every once in a while when I think of all the actors I enjoy who signed that petition supporting him…woof. Et tu, Tilda?

eh, I read it as a continuation of what she should say to the probable-impregnator.
