Yes, I’m embarrassed to say that my eyes have been very abruptly opened to the racists I’m surrounded by that have kept it under wraps until now.

I think Porsche has higher aspirations for the 911, thus the myriad of versions of it. But I think even they know there’s only so far they can go with the self-imposed limitations. Short of stopping evolution of it completely and creating a new car that isn’t painted into a corner, they will run into a wall of trying

Yes, I agree with you that they’ve done an astonishing amount all while having one arm tied behind their back, intentionally. I’m saying imagine what they could produce if they weren’t limited to tradition and quirkiness. And Porsche owners absolutely are bragging about skid pad numbers and 0 to 60 times even if they

The Corolla Sport GRMN is getting the drivetrain from the GR Yaris and that’s what we’re getting. I doubt it’s getting the aluminum and carbon fiber body panels like the GR Yaris, but it’s better than nothing. I was dead set ready to buy a Veloster N, but now I’m waiting for the Corolla.

I was under the impression that it was common knowledge that hanging a large percentage of your weight outside of the axles affects how a car handles. Keeping the weight inside the axles (mid engine) gives a much better balance versus the pendulum effect of a rear engine layout.

I guess Boomers buying Challengers are comparing them to the rattley pieces of shit they drove in the 70’s and a new car is light years ahead of that. “What? I can just turn the key and it starts? I don’t have to pull a choke and pump the throttle to get it to fire? This is the life of luxury!”

I’ve seen one star reviews because the box was slightly damaged in shipping. Yelp has become useless because everything is either one star or five stars. Everything becomes three stars from McDonald’s up to the finest steakhouses because people are idiots and don’t understand how to score reviews.

I think you’re on to something about people defending their purchase to the ends of the earth. Nobody likes admitting they made a mistake or were duped. The amount of tribalism baked into some automotive communities is kind of astounding.

The North American continent, excluding Mexico apparently.

I remember following an old Volvo with a “Buy Local” bumper sticker. Ah, the irony.

I refer to our Fiat as Mexican, not Italian. Except for when it breaks or I discover a dumb design. Then I use the Jeremy Clarkson quote, “We are useless Italians and we haven’t built this properly.”

Every article on Jalopnik has a pun thread in the comments. Once I identify it I just scroll past to the next thread. Some people love puns, I’m not one of them.

Good points, but kind of defeats what I liked about riding. I like leaning in the corners, the quick acceleration from a stop and the nimbleness.

I didn’t take this survey and I don’t know how the question was worded, but I wouldn’t just assume they meant you’re walking for a year. I think it’s more along the line of you have to drive anything other than your truck. Of course this was Ford trying to juice numbers for an upcoming new generation F150. The

First few minutes of blindly fleeing? Sure, fight or flight kicked in and you can point to panic. Several minutes of hauling ass while PUSHING a motorcycle and grinding the frame on the freeway, then ditching the motorcycle, driving even further, then ditching the car and THEN trying to report the car stolen? You

Both my bikes are collecting dust in my garage. I’ve had too many close calls with inattentive drivers. I’m getting to the age where I finally feel mortal and the risk isn’t worth it anymore. If I do ride again it will be off-road only.

Classic misdirection to throw off any would-be witnesses that might be following him. Sheer genius.

I’ve gone to nearly every NASCAR race at Sonoma Raceway since 1990. Every year there were Confederate flags flying in the camping area. You know, Northern California, the heartland of the Confederacy. *eye roll*

I love pointing out that the United States is defined as a Liberal Republic. They never respond back to me after that one. Don’t know why.

I remember hearing that the main design goal of the Excursion was that it had to be bigger than the Suburban.
