The trade in value of my 2017 Tacoma has dropped $3,000 in about a month. A 4x4 Tacoma for god’s sake. Luckily I leased so Toyota gets to eat it here in about two days.

Can I swing by the port and pick up a Veloster N for straight invoice? I don’t mind doing the DMV myself.
My complaint is that with current CGI abilities they can remove that stuff. I understand that CGI is expensive, but they use it on other minor details that most people never notice. You can’t go back and air brush out the skid marks from the previous take? Or the steam pouring out from under the car from the steam…
My wife hates when I point out my two biggest pet peeves in movie car chases. 1.) Soaking wet streets when it’s obviously dry and sunny, even in tunnels. 2.) Being able to see skid marks from previous takes.
They’ve been in business since 1988 in a tiny town with no industry. They are obviously doing something right.
Haha, yep. “We’re looking into that very strongly. Many people are saying they want wagons.”
You don’t have to believe me if you don’t want to, but I worked there for a few years and saw how it worked. There are a lot of extra expenses the general public doesn’t know about. Plus, we didn’t always sell a car every day.
Funny story. I was a detailer at a small used car lot in high school. My boss acquired an old cop car that would start smoking after idling for a few minutes. This car was beat and we weren’t going to try to resurrect it so my boss was going to take it to a dealer auction. Taxi companies love buying old cop cars at…
Yes! To all of this. I’m in the same boat except I’m in California where gas is still expensive no matter what. Lease is up in about a week. Good riddance.
I was talking about the people that would offer $2,000 for the truck that is $5,000. Their thinking was we were “making $2,000" when if we accepted that offer we’d actually be losing $1,500 or more. That’s not a loss of $1,500 in profit, that’s the business is now $1,500 poorer than when we started.
I always think of that scene from The Office where Dwight is going to buy Andy’s Xterra.
When I was in high school I washed cars at a small Mom ‘n Pop used car lot. I was aware of how much we paid for the cars, how much was invested in reconditioning them and how much they were listed for. I learned very quickly that some people have ZERO concept of seller’s cost versus profit. I think some of them…
While I certainly don’t agree with this idiot’s “negotiation” tactic, I’ve also seen dealerships either add a huge markup and refuse to budge off of MSRP even when you come in with a fair offer because they are willing to “wait for the right customer” i.e. sucker that will pay more.
Maybe you should go back to the first post that started the thread and read it again. Republicans are not mentioned. They are talking about the idiots that are throwing a tempter tantrum and causing chaos (and prolonging how long the shelter in place order has to remain in effect) because they can’t get their hair dye…
What if Bloomberg bought Fox and cut off the propaganda machine? Would it snap 1/3 of the country out of their trance? Literally 90% of this cult can be traced back to Fox and their decades of peddling fear and brain washing.
Hmm, neither my post nor JaredTheGeek’s post mentioned a side or party affiliation. Both were just commentary on a trend of downplaying the importance of education and the effects that causes. Yet you immediately took it as an attack (or possibly projection?) from “the left.” Why is that?
Did somebody watch The Masked Singer last night and get inspired?
“We don’t make the CUV, we make it blander.”
Some people’s brains never matured past the age of reason (7). I work in Corrections and we’ve literally been performing CPR on someone in the dayroom as all the inmates could see from their cells and STILL have one ask when he was going to get his out of cell time. Why couldn’t we just cart the dead guy out so it…
But the rallies have to be mandatory two weeks attendance. No hand stamps at the door. You’re either all in or you’re not.
