Did it even get that good of mpg? I rented one in Washington for a weekend and spent twice as much on fuel as I did renting the vehicle. That 5 cylinder was a gutless wonder and just guzzled the gas to move that brick through the air.

I think I saw something where people were basically imprisoning self driving cars by simply drawing a chalk circle around them.
I had a K.I.T.T. Big Wheel and thought I was the shit.
The casino busses are crazy. They will run you off the road.
Beating someone off the line is to, “tree them.” Referring to the starting tree at a drag strip.
My dad pointed out “dead foot drivers” to me. Never adjust their throttle position for hills so they slow to a crawl going up and fly down the other side at mach 1.
I remember chrome spray paint being called Oakie Chrome.
Ventilated the block.
“Sidewinder - car with a bent or twisted frame”
Statutory Grape
I’ve always heard, “the nut behind the wheel is loose.”
Yeah, it’s usually used as an insult to slow drivers. “Hey, it’s the skinny pedal on the right!” I’ve also heard it referred to as the loud pedal.
My dad used to refer to a Krylon Rebuild where you just repainted the block and heads.
My father always called them Scooby Doo’s when I was a kid. We live in Northern California.
Can confirm from Northern California. Brodies is a term here.
Suck, Squeeze, Bang, Blow.
Blasphemy! These are gorgeous. Well, at least until the water and mud pools up in them and they rot away. We used to race this generation of Camaro and we had to cut out the bottom of the quarter panels on every one of them and replace it with new sheetmetal.
Oh, you’re right. I don’t know why I had it in my head it was Taurus. Good memory.
I didn’t like when they made Taurus into that skinny body version. That was the start of the mid-mounted driver position and they were less “jacked up pickups” and more purpose built machines. I liked it better when they were F-150’s and Silverados.
I bought a 2012 Focus, but mine was a manual. It really was like a different car compared to the auto. I got a loaner once when mine was in the shop for a recall and I couldn’t believe how shitty it was. If I had test driven that and not the manual version, there is no way in hell I would have bought one.
