@Jason: definitely go inSSidder (see above comment [lifehacker.com] )
for home networking, i definitely suggest picking the best channel (to limit interference) using inssider. [www.metageek.net]
@madisomi: man of ren: i would vote that irreversible damage from this is unlikely. farm runoff had already created a nice dead zone where the oil spill is, and even if it spreads, mostly it is affecting those charismatic megafauna we all love, but they will live on somewhere else or maybe even return. irreversible…
@chris0089: buy her flowers more often.
More reason to go to the smaller banks. Since moving from BofA, I love having a free checking out with truly no fees through a smaller bank. They just attach a credit line to it, don't charge a transfer fee if you dip into it, and otherwise there are no other fees.
"There may not be many ducks floating off Mexico's coast"
(edit) figured that one out by moving away from Chromium 6.
what about channel selection? the repeater (in your setup) has a different channel right, otherwise you are probably adding interference to your original network.
ah, read about this in the Paradox of Choice.
With the HTC sense update 2.1, I feel like my phone has finally arrived. When at work everything is layed out for what I use there, including that nice agenda widget HTC has. Then, when traveling... well, you get the picture. I dig it, and I dig what apps I have.
speaking of controlling what Google knows about you, has anyone seen the new (I think) Google service, Google Health. Randomly clicked on it and although it isn't anything new, I felt my sphincter pucker up a bit.
kind of doing a ubiquity thing...? I have no experience with Quix.
@freakshowtime: wow, just installed chromium 6.0.416.0 (48199) and it seems lightning fast, i mean, seriously crazy fast.
I see AdThwart allows custom filters, would that mean the facebook filters recently posted should/could work?[lifehacker.com]
another user posted this before, but in chrome, a simple ctrl+shift+v gives paste without formatting (no extension required).
@fivelroo: or just buy a G1 which is great as wifi only, well except that I have heard that other phones have better wifi. personally i use mine without a data plan.
guess this isn't possible with chrome given how adblock extensions are just removing ads, not filtering content?
@cam_layton: I completely agree, but I know a year or so ago I was looking fir an FB alternative and was very annoyed with my options. There is a need for a new service for everyone to migrate too, which is key since it needs to be a ton of people (the reason so many of us our now stuck with FB).
i just stated using chrome 5 with bookmark sync and i am going to have to say it takes the prize (though i assume weave is the same with mobile potential).
go Diaspora, bring it.
