my first thought was she’s young, and sounds young and full of herself, and if an 18 year old boy said “its funny, all these old timers coming up to me with advice, and here I am several cars ahead of me” everyone would shit down their throats.

that was my point above. its the polite and respectful thing to do to listen to and absorb your elders. Not mock them for offering tips.
