The "Outside" logo looks like it's a label for people who can't tell which is the exterior and which is the interior.

basically my line of thinking. couldnt find a clean used manual car in my area so I bought a prius. If i’m not going to have what i “want” might as well have something practical and fuel economy.
It reminded me of the same sort of thing. Years ago I would hit a yearly alley cat race that went from <50 people (and I wasn’t in on the inception) to by the last time I participated it had to have been 300+. You can get away with a lot when scope is small, but when things get large authorities will clamp down. Those…
Built-in retractable umbrella?
Exactly. I’m always reminded of the old Yogi Bera saying: “Nobody goes there anymore, it’s too crowded.”
And eventually, no matter how hard the original organizers try to stop it, eventually, sooner or later, some assholes will show up to roll coal, rev engines, do burnouts, and plow a Mustang into a crowd. Car meets have a limited lifespan, you gotta get in early before the assholes show up and take it over, and then it…
nowhere else in malibu to park??? just move to a new damn location like every single other one of these that has gotten too big for its original location.
By this logic, the 944 was never a sports car, no 911 (besides the 993 turbo) was a sports car until the 2000s, most Ferraris before the 90s are not sports cars, the S2000 is not a sports car, and the NSX is not a sports car. If you’re the kind of smoothbrain to think horsepower is what makes a car, you were never…
The FA20 seems to be able to pretty reliably handle around 300-350hp before running into issues. Considering the bump in power in the FA24, I think 400 will be pretty reasonable. I know some people who have driven the new car, and said power delivery stock is about on par with the typical FRZ86 that has a header, E85,…
Exactly if you want numbers ditch the ICE altogether and get an EV.
Wasn’t the concept based on the F-body, as essentially a Firebird wagon, and then the production based on the U-body, as essentially a less practical deathtrap van?
Interesting that they chose to power it via the rear wheel. Considering weight and cornering forces, it probably should be front wheel drive to get the best performance. Single rear wheel drive can’t be loaded effectively in a trike, and ends up spinning at launch, or sliding while cornering.
“beige vinyl roof make this a Buick that stands out in the crowd”
I’d guess that maybe the frame cracked, you felt it, but it hadn’t moved enough to crack the paint at that point. A few miles down the road with it moving all over the place and the failure showed through the paint.
OEMs have all sorts of other data flowing through the car that is far more valuable. location, speed, trip duration, and yes, how you like your HVAC set. All of it can useful to someone, even if its divorced from Personally identifiable Information.
I agree with most everything you said, except point 4. More and more auto makers are moving more and more functions to a screen, some like Tesla don’t even have physical buttons for almost anything. IMO there are a couple of car functions that should NEVER be moved to screens, HVAC and volume/tuning functions. With…
It’s a miracle we still have Gmail.
A few thoughts from a UI designer here:
100%. I like my iPhone. I like CarPlay. I have no desire for either to do anything beyond control media, navigation, and phone calls.
I’d like to know why it’s not a wagon. ;)
