The number one thing men lie about. Usually only by an inch. Not surprised he went for two.

He’s a blowhard, but he’s also pretty stupid. He has no idea what any of this policy means or is about, and he has no inclination to learn. So he’s just going to do what they tell him to do from here on out. It’s not deference, it’s ignorance.

Lately I find that I’m angry all the time. To the point that I forget why and I stop and wonder what I’m angry about. And then I remember that president trump is destroying america/our democracy and all of our lives.

BUT HER FUCKING EMAILS

Trump is never going to nominate someone that either of us would like, no Republican ever would. Insisting on someone we approve of isn’t going to get anywhere. So why do you think Warren did it? Because she’s stupid?

The GOP can approve all of these without the Dems help.

It’s like you and the others here don’t understand how politics work. There are still A LOT of old school politicos in Congress who play the game it’s meant to be played, and this includes vote trading. I suspect Warren and Brown have teamed up with some Republicans and promised not to block Carson, if they will not

Quid Pro Quo is the only thing the Dems have got left. They have to trade this to save something bigger. Carson will probably dump the real work off onto an experienced underling and let them do all the dirty work.

Nice trolling. The way the Republicans won is thru divide and conquer. The Dems are a minority and can only get shit done if they cut deals with the few Republicans that aren’t total nut cases.

I think the theory is that they got committments from some republicans to vote against some other nominee, in exchange for their yes vote here.

Well, for starters they got these promises. You might think promises aren’t much but their support isn’t worth much either (and the public promises aren’t the real issue compared to the private assurances), and people in Washington actually typically stick to their deals, believe it or not.

My guess is they don’t think he’ll do a lot of damage there and by not confirming him they’d just get someone worse. He’s inexperienced at the job this means he’d have to rely on others or so is usually the case so hopefully the other workers in that department will go on with business as usual.

Likely the political capital to get rid of someone else.

If every single Democrat doesn’t vote against DeVos, I will snap. She is a horrible monstrous person.

Reactions like yours are why national politics is as dysfunctional as it is.

It’s called picking your battles.

I can only assume (hope?) they are backing him because they have bigger fish to fry in terms of the cabinet nominees (like they’ve made a deal that they’ll back him if so-and-so doesn’t back someone else?). This still feels like a betrayal, but there are worse cabinet picks, imo.

One of my relatives posted a meme of Michelle and Melania together, and they photoshopped a little white apron and one of those frilly white 1800's caps onto Michelle. Indicating that she is Melania’s slave. This election has brought out the worst in people. I blocked my cousin immediately, she is clearly heinous. The

I saw one of the fat shaming memes. It said “trump got more fat women out walking in one day than Michelle did in 8 years”. Fuck off.

This administration is already bringing out the best in people. I cannot wait to see where this leads...
