This gift wasn’t given to me personally but it was still pretty awful from my perspective:

They speak of her like she was a walking vagina, defined solely by her relationships or non-relationships to men.

It doesn't really say very much about her, but at least it talks about her like she was an actual human being and not a collection tabloid stories.  It mentions the palimony suit but only in passing.  I could see this being similar to a man's obituary; it handles things in a much more dignified manner.

Try telling people you moved across the country to do a PhD program you didn't want to do because you were forced into it, then REALLY watch people’s heads’ explode...! 😉

I would argue that they are partially correct, albeit for all the wrong reasons. Gun control, as currently conceived, IS ineffective and is unlikely to do anything to stem the tide of violence. There is going to be a serious gun problem for years to come, unless the apocalypse comes first (which I’m not ruling out).
