Because I didn’t grow up dreaming and lusting after a Boxster/Cayman for 40 years.

I’m seeing more & more of this in my own little car niche, which is Mercedes. I have an ‘88 260E that I’ll never part with because family heirloom, but I’m seeing more & more people who are capable of working on their own cars looking for ‘70s & ‘80s Benzes. If nothing else, the prices on these cars (especially the

Tesla is bad because, in addition to the risk of a battery fire, they’re badly built cars that all too frequently use their drivers and owners for testing software. Autopilot issues, the auto call service, memory storage issues.... Any company that had any experience with building cars would *never* put programs or

Yes, but they generally don’t burn anywhere near as intensely, plus they have the delightful habit of fires staying out instead of re-igniting once all parts have cooled down.

Rush worked as well as it did because at least at a glance, everything looked right. The cars were period correct, the helmets, suits, and at least at a distance, the tracks. Just like a lot of us car geeks, I knew it glossed over a lot, but as a movie, it looked right and things pretty much followed the laws of

He is justifiably focusing on what needs to be done, but if you think about it.... He pulled a ‘67 911 in pretty decent shape for sitting in a barn for decades, for under $10,000. And to top it off, the damn thing still *runs*.

From what I’ve seen, the Hubert’s car was hit right in the cockpit area-very similar to Alex Zanardi’s near-fatal crash at Lausitz.

Not surprised to see the G-wagen do well.  These days they're mosrly suburbanite toys, but back in the dark ages when it was first designed, it was meant to be a workhorse.

1988 260E owner here... What you get out of a Mercedes-Benz depends a lot on what you put into it. They’re not “drive-it-and-forget-it” cars, like their Asian competitors.

LLook at the bike.... Not the best view, but the thing looks completely intact and even *shiny*. Last I checked, bikes that hit the ground while in motion generally get a bit banged up and non-shiny.

I’m not going to immediately jump on the “Pocono must go” bandwagon, but after 2 similar incidents in as many years, with one car massively into the fence, another barely avoiding it, and another car ending up upside down and on fire, something needs to be done.

While everyone else is busy spraying the booze, she actually drinks it.

Former SCCA volunteer marshal here.

Better yet, make it be a European-sized parking lot.

Dear GM,

Man, Leclerc should be utterly livid at his team.  They couldn't have screwed things up much worse if they tried.

Yeah... It’s this kind of immature BS that makes me want to avoid at all costs.

That is the world’s most boring roadster.  I had one at 120 mph on an Autobahn and it was duller than dishwater. It didn't even have enough personality for me to dislike it.

I’ve had several Mont Blancs (FPs), and sorry, but they’re terrible writers. Basically just pocket jewelry.
