It was a video about racing/rallying in the '80s; I thought it was a nice touch to use actual period music.  It shows an extra layer of thought put into the video.

Came here to say the same thing. His stuff is a cut above even most of the good motorsports videos on YouTube.

I’d guess it’s a similar situation to women drivers in other forms of motorsports—a big part of it is that sponsorship is hard to come by for any driver, and even moreso for female drivers.

*sigh*... Just when I thought things were improving....

Fire is a risk in any car. It’s not the probability of a fire occurring, but the intensity of the fire, how easy/difficult said fire is to extinguish, and the overall survivability. Like it or not, this is a serious issue for EVs and a definite obstacle to widespread use of them.

Ah. So kind of similar to what happened on Valujet 592...

And yet, out of the 4 articles you gave, 3 were fatal, with at least 2 of them (possibly all 3) it was very likely that the victim burned to death. I personally know of another Tesla crash where the passenger was conscious and yet burned to death because even with multiple trucks, the fire fighting equipment on site

Ditto, except for the working on fire suppression part.

Yeah....  Unless you've got something truly bizarre under the hood, at least ICE fires are much easier to put out.

Presenting the #1 reason I will not own an electric car (at least for now). When the batteries start to cook off, they are next to impossible to completely extinguish as well as putting out toxic fumes.

Part of their motivation for this might be due to confusion with the German word “teekanne”, usually pronounced “tay-kann-uh”, and means the same as the English word....

I admit, I’ve never bothered with winter tires. That said, I live in central Indiana, and quite often we just don’t get that much snow & ice. I’ve always wondered if that’s something I needed to do... If I lived any further north than where I do, I’d certainly do winter tires, but here, I’ve just always gotten a good

Hi all, it’s your local friendly W124 fangirl checking in....

Amen. Just because it’s (stupidly) called Autopilot, doesn’t mean it actually is.

Problem is, to a 5 year old, there's not really a difference.

Look.... I don’t think anyone is really arguing that the SW employee was perfectly okay in her ridiculing the child’s name. (Although I would point out that, to a young kid, there is no real difference between making fun of their name and making fun of *them*.) The agent was 100% in the wrong here.

Not to mention that the average human being’s “fine” and a pro driver’s “fine” have quite a different interpret as well.

I know this is a bit late, but I’ve been wondering how on earth she came out of this without any (publicized) head injuries. I’ve gone back & rewatched the various clips of the accident, and the conclusion I’ve come to is that she is a lucky lady. If you watch a slow-mo clip, it looks like the car hit the

The worst for me was Dan Wheldon. I’m a former corner worker, plus I spent a large chunk of my childhood at IMS. The minute I saw them not just covering his car, but *only* his car, I knew he was either very badly injured or dead. There’s no other reason for the track workers to do that, especially when it’s just one
