All of this! Been screaming it for years.
They gave me chills. Queens on DECK!
Letters to Oxsana: don’t fall for lie. (A message to young girls to uphold the standard)
Is anyone else at work tossing their hair and posing in their office or is that just a me thing.
fascinating point! I have to admit that I come from a different upbringing so my view on things such as the struggle may be limited. While I see the superficial side, others may see the necessity of it in order to gain an immediate way out of poverty. Thank you for your reply because it made me really think. Cheers
Sigh. I’ve had this discussion too many times to count with people close to me. Just like this forum has reported before, we as black ppl need to stop comparing our filth, to the other’s filth. In fact, I want us as a community to raise the standard and become morally better than them; like we use to be way back in…
I prefer to remain balanced in most things. When talking about the pay gap (for us regular folk) her stats were skewed but somewhat correct. The timing sucked and I would have loved to see GU’s face when she made that unnecessary statement . But then, this chick DARES to interrupt a black man praising our young queen…
Help me I’m torn! On one hand its evident that she’s clearly appropriating the culture. But on the other hand, how far have we fallen to claim that crap as being apart of our “culture”. Truthfully, I believe its all manufactured to make us look mindless and superficial, not to mention oversexed and desperate for…

YUP!
I feel we hold celebrities at a higher regard in this sense because they have more power and influence than the average person. So if we are just looking for a statement, they are messing us up.
omg thank you! I heard that too, now I’ve unfortunately overcompensated and folks on both side are like “why are you so aggressive/quick tempered I’m like REALLY! lol
I can’t speak for an entire hue but I will say this. YES, I have privilege. YES, I have a complex about it. YES (like it or not) I was made fun of for being light and “talking white”. YES, I see how my melanin rich sisters are left at the bottom and it is disturbing! There is no denying any of this. Its completely…
My own mom has made reference to my color (calls it teasing). That’s why I don’t see any hope in this ever being resolved. Too many people are emotionally involved (and yes, anger counts) to fix this mess.
THANK YOU!
Remember the last song when he repeatedly sings “liyah, your the only one for me” I am scared for life that he was actually serious! My childhood is ruined...
see that is what I thought...
Well said King!
