That’s “martial” law. Not “Marshal.”

Our cats (Psyche and Beowulf) passed four and six years ago, at ages 19 and 21. Two nights ago — we were finally ready to open our hearts again! — we brought home a pair of rescue kittens from a shelter. And the last two evenings, having cats watch tv with me again...I realized how much I’d been missing that. I hope…
Agree 100% about the death. I watched pretty much unblinkingly every act of violence throughout the whole series — even the suitcase scene! — but this was almost unbearable. (Second place for me goes to the dental work scene.) The stuff before Elizabeth killed her was pretty hard, too, especially for anyone who has…
Thanks for the recommendation; looks like a great cast, and an intriguing plot.
It wasn’t a fake family; it was Philip’s brother and his family, so Mischa’s aunt, uncle, and cousin.
Don’t forget the vaguely-named (and -themed) Spa World.
This wasn’t a “revelation,” and frankly I am surprised every time someone says something implying that it was. Charlotte Hale — Executive Director of the Delos board — very deliberately and specifically went down to B83 storage with Sizemore, chose Abernathy, uploaded data into him, and said she was sending him out of…
In this season’s credits, the piano-playing musculoskeletal hands are a man’s, whereas in first season they were a woman’s. There’s nothing identifying them as Ford’s or Hopkins’ hands. What about them makes you think they are specifically his?
Erik, thanks for making the correction (and replying to me on Twitter). Now, if only we could get a particular colleague of yours to either pay better attention to the shows he reviews, or to make corrections when the commentariat points out his (often egregious!) errors...
Whoops, my bad: EST didn’t make the switch to Landmark until January 1985, so Philip’s early work was indeed EST. I took the Forum in 1993, and thought it hadn’t been EST for much longer than 8 years by that point!
Erik, that should be “You can take your *Forum* bullshit and shove it up your ass.” EST became The Forum (and later The Landmark Forum) after Werner Erhard sold the company to his trainers/coaches. Philip has been attending The Forum over the years. Not EST.
Every time I see her, or Angela Sarafyan, I think how perfect it would have been if they could have also cast Amanda Seyfried as a host.
To be fair, the company name is shown spelled out more than a few times over the course of the series, on signage, etc. Do we even see Dolores’s name on a tablet more than once, passingly? Plus, “Delores” is indeed a valid spelling of that name, and it’s intriguingly similar to “Delos” when spelled that way. I give a…
Among your other errors (including but not limited to: spelling of “Delos”; very obvious track marks on Logan’s arm; the fact that Arnold, not Robert, demurred from wanting to send Delores in to entertain the possible investors; Bernard’s “I killed them” which wasn’t “He killed them”; etc.) Zack, is this comment: “And…
He also missed that Logan wasn’t simply drunk; he had track marks all over his arm. Something happened between William’s first visit to the park and then to compel Logan to become a junkie.
No, but I’ll certainly listen for it on my rewatch!
Nope, I didn’t know it was him until I came here.
Your tv may have captioning, but your cable provider almost certainly does, and without a fee (it’s an Americans with Disabilities Act thing). On my Verizon remote, hitting the asterisk button turns on captioning. Look on your help screens, or Google your cable company’s remote.
I paused on the cards sequence, and while I didn’t see any other people I recognized there, Bernard’s card clearly said something about him having the highest clearance level. So those cards were identifying staff, not hosts.
By “horseback-Jesus-hippie” do you mean Angela, the first host young William meets on his first visit to the park? I don’t think that’s a hippie headband on her. We haven’t gotten a very close look yet, but I’m thinking — given her devotion to Wyatt — that it’s more likely a string of somebody’s guts!
