That's not the Grand Maester. The Grand Maester serves the royal family. Jim Broadbent is playing Archmaester Ebrose.

Targaryens practiced polygamy sometimes. My assumption is that Rhaegar and Leanna married in secret without him bothering to annul the marriage to Elia.
Son of a … Well, I stand corrected: there IS a slider there. I guess it's never been an issue since we literally have turned the fan on ONCE in 22 years, just to see if it was working! I guess it would be more useful in another room, one where I spend more time than I do in the kitchen (it's a cooking-only kitchen; we…
That would track with his last name being "Horne."
Our kitchen has a bog-standard Hampton Bay (I think) ceiling fan that was installed by the previous owners, who lived here 23-26 years ago (we bought the house 22 years ago). It does not have any kind of switch for direction of rotation of the blades. (Also, we never use it. The central A/C is much better!)
I'm talking about Jon knowing (via a raven from Sam) that Bran had *recently arrived at Castle Black*.
Actually, her last name was "Baratheon."

He was gouty Prince Doran.
He did a great guest spot in an episode of Babylon 5, "Grail," playing a religious seeker. But to me he'll always be the Supreme Evil Being (Time Bandits)!
Well, they have about a 50/50 record. Something that happened this Sunday, that veered from the books, very much subverted a trope. So much so, I laughed out loud when it played out.
Mrs. Dern is her grandmother; she's Ms. Dern.
Or like someone epileptic, or maybe some kind of muscular impairment. It's funny how so many of you seemed to experience it as "zombiefied." I feel like I was watching a different show!
I miss Usenet in general. The level of conversation there was usually pretty high, because of the bar that had to be cleared to even figure out how to *get* onto Usenet.
In fairness, they usually put up the Game of Thrones review page simply for allowing discussion, hours before the actual review appears.
