I confess, I've been sick and not getting enough sleep. So maybe my camp-filter is off! I'm not so sure about the costuming and wig being off, though: I think it tracks for a wealthy 'gentleman farmer' of that period.

Okay, maybe I went a little crazy there…but you can never accuse him of not committing! :-D
I think Peters is very good. It's campy to us because we're not used to people talking like that, but he is actually NOT camping it up to an absurd degree, not with Mott or with last year's March. The fact that he plays those styles of characters straight, and does it so well…man, he is one workhorse of an ensemble…
It was obvious even before seeing actress-Shelby in the cast, and even if Emily missed that the leg that was struck was white: as actress-Shelby and actor-Matt lay pressed together in the truck, she was babbling, gasping, muttering barely coherently…while he was calm and lucid and soothing her. Really, this needs to…
HA! Well done, Joe.
I was thinking more of pagans, neopagans, shamans, wiccans…I guess I travel in circles where wearing antlers is just not that remarkable! :-D But yeah, it's kind of odd we are seeing *no* Native Americans (thus far) in the show, when they most likely played a pivotal role in the "disappearance" of the Roanoke…
Aw, you warmed my heart, including that fada (diacrtical mark) in the Gaelic name!
Deer shed their antlers. There are times of the year that you can go into the woods (if you live in an area with deer) and find shed antlers near 'scratching trees.' You have to time it right, though, in order to beat the rodents to them.
I know people (both men and women) who wear headpieces made out of real antlers to certain kinds of events. That didn't seem weird to me at all.
Yes, I watch with the cc on, too, and I'm a Gaelic speaker and keenly interested in Celtic paganism and mythology. So I thought it was pretty cool when I saw they were referring to her as Skathach!
Ha! Wow, omg…I mean, it's not unheard of for celeb fans to ask for zombie cameos. I think maybe this guy just resembles Pudi enough that someone thought it would be funny to put him in a striped hoodie. We should tweet at him and ask. https://cdn2.wornon.tv/tile…
This is literally the only reason I wish I hadn't already dumped the episode off my DVR. If anyone has a screen cap of the zombie that looked like Danny Pudi (and not from the Community episode "Epidemiolgy"!), please post!
Also, Ofelia was meant to be Alicia's lookout/backup, so bailing on her without telling her meant that Alicia was suddenly all alone in what you'd have to presume was a dangerous place. Plus, she'd have to know that Alicia would waste time looking for her, and might end up putting herself in greater danger while doing…
Her acting definitely doesn't help, but the writing sucks, too. I had to learn from a Kim Dickens interview on Talking Dead that when she told Travis that she'd done worse, she was talking about something PRE-apocalypse. I thought she was talking about Celia, and in fact, in her dialogue she mentioned Celia and what…
Yeah, actually the worst thing about her leaving Alicia at the hotel with no word whatsoever, to go and find the love of her life, is that there was NO SETUP. These writers are awful. It's like no one ever taught them structure.
Yeah, wow, that's an excellent point.
I mostly agree. I think Alicia and Strand should be on their own, better show. But I'm not sure why everyone likes Ofelia so much. I'm kind of annoyed that we didn't see her progression from meek mouse to post-apocalyptic warrior chick. It just…was.
So we're meant to believe that either a) that family was already living in the colonia when the zombie apocalypse happened, and by the way kept their wallets and ID with them, on their person, even after they became totally useless, or b) the colonia issued identification to people who came into their compound to…
Of COURSE they destroyed the hotel's gate on their way out. Who cares if Strand and everyone else they lived with aren't safe anymore? As long as the Clark-Manawas — who, btw, are the WORST — are fine!
Those Clark-Manawas are the worst. Seriously. *That's* who they want us to root for?
