Yes, that’s something we should focus on. Her clothing choices. We don’t hear enough critiques about her clothes, her pants, her hair, etc. That’s the important stuff, right?
By saying that it’s a weird statement to think that someone being excited to meet the candidate they’ve been campaigning for is “a dramatization of how people think women are preordained to act around Clinton”? A Trump campaigner or a Bernie campaigner would react the same way. It’s not some internalized gender thing.
They DO say “I endorse Hillary Clinton” though. They just put it like: “Vote for Hillary. Yas. Yas. Yas.”
Also Ilana said nothing but “YAS YAS YAS” and *literally* orgasmed from that speech.
Mystery flu, man. That will get you at least one day off. Feverish and achy? Sounds like the flu, and even if you got the flu shot—it might just be a slightly different strain, so I guess I’ve got to run over to the Minute Clinic and totally not out to meet Hillary!
I love this story.
I would imagine most people don’t brush off and snap at Bill Clinton no matter how transfixed by Hillary they are though. That’s fucking hilarious.
This is a really, really good story. :)
“Loose endorsement”? I’d say the whole speech about Hillary’s platform from Cynthia Nixon’s character was a straight-up bold endorsement. Just because the characters don’t say “I endorse Hillary Clinton” doesn’t mean this wasn’t an explicitly pro-HRC episode.
That is a great story.
I volunteered for the Clinton campaign in South Carolina and had the opportunity to meet Secretary Clinton. I couldn’t go because of work, and living in SC and saying “Hey I’m taking the day of to hang with Hillz” wouldn’t be kosher.
I thought it was adorable when she had her arms raised standing next to the air thingy.
I met HRC once, on my 21st birthday. I was working at a Clinton Foundation fundraiser at the Museum of Natural History in NYC. They hadn’t told us anything about how the Clintons would enter and I just assumed they would come in the back through some super secret door or something.
I noticed how warm and affectionate she was too. This is the real HRC.
“Also something I never noticed...Hillary has the nicest smile.”
I love these women. I was so excited when I saw the clip Hillary released. I didn’t realize it would be part of a whole episode though. Good for Abbi & Ilana! I hope they don’t get too much shit for daring to promote HRC.
My favorite part was Cynthia Nixon. She absolutely nailed her role.
I actually really enjoyed this episode. I know this season is pretty different from when it first started, but as long as it’s still funny I don’t really mind. And I laughed a LOT last night.
Also something I never noticed...Hillary has the nicest smile. I kinda wish she was my mom.
Far and away the best thing about this episode was learning that HRC can wink with each eye. That’s talent.
