There are rights, responsibilities, and privileges of living in a taxed society. Someone above mentioned social contract... that's what it is and we all enjoy the benefits. It seems to me you want to cede from the responsibilities part and just enjoy the rights and privileges. It don't work like that, sorry. You call

But shareholders have a choice... they can always walk. No law of the land compels them to invest their money with a company that puts community first. For the purposes of this discussion consumers don't have a choice - they have to use a bank, supermarket etc., if not one then another and those entities should treat

So what's your alternative to a society with taxes and government?

Did you read the reply to myself I wrote after it was too late to edit the comment about it being off topic or did you just jump in feet first? If your answer is no then I don't have an answer for your ignorance, if yes then why did you post your comment after I'd admitted mine had no place here?

Because if there were no taxes there would be no government and without government we wouldn't have a civilized society. You refer to mob rule... the above scenario would produce a true mob rule. Your argument is a pretty immature one, long since dismissed as irrelevant however you are entitled to your opinions but

Sorry, just realized my comment is off topic. Well what's new?

What's immoral with no chance of ever being accused of being illegal is for the Pope and his bishops to publicly pronounce on gays being "not quite normal" (yes I'm aware of events this week) but ignore and maybe even condone those same priests playing with little boys' balls. There is nothing ethical or moral or even

Huh, you're just an apprentice.

What I haven't seen anyone mention is the lack of morality in companies large and small that evade and avoid paying taxes through having smart accountants. My view is if you want to operate in a community, as a supermarket, lawyer or whatever then paying taxes is paying your dues. Your taxes help that community

Are your clothes coming out of the washing machine too wet?

Whoever you are I love you!

If you habitually save links and then wonder what they point to several months later you can save them to Pocket. When you open the app, and it's available on Android and Windows you see a table of contents and either the title or the first sentence or two of what the link points to, plus Pocket is a nice easy way to

Beat you to it!

One good addition to any log off/shutdown script is to email or Google voice text yourself with the time and date and maybe a photo of the user if you suspect someone is accessing your PC without your permission. It's a hell of a lot easier to do this at log off than at log on which is what most people try to do. At

If you don't set this up in the correct manner then shutdown will hang at the point where it asks you if you want to force close any open apps. Don't use .vbs scripts here where you need to explicitly null objects, go with powershell which will terminate correctly on its own

In absolutely with you all the way. I was going to say something similar myself. What Turing did was against the law at the time and whatever the law we should all be law abiding citizens. We look at his crimes through 21st Century eyes and see no wrong, let's be thankful we live in much more enlightened times. A

Yeah - suffering from taste overload at the moment - eating a vegetable korma!

Sidenote.

What's up - no US screenshots? Streuth!
