I never liked her. It baffled me when she became a thing after Pitch Perfect because I found her insufferable in it, and nothing else she's been in has improved my opinion of her. She reminds me of Zoey Deschanel, another actress all my friends seem to adore whose appeal completely mystifies me.

I'm convinced it's actually a candid shot during a break in filming, and they caught her in a moment of "This is what my life has become? Do I really need to pay rent this badly?" existential angst.

Yes the redneck vampires thing could have been a disaster, but it worked. I was raised in an area full of rednecks, and a lot of those characters really rang true to me.

Thanks for encouraging me to watch Near Dark! I figured it would be entertaining, but I wasn't expecting it to be as mesmerizing and intense as it was. I had to replay that entire bar scene alone at least 4 times.
