That rule is one of the few things I remember from my German classes in college, and it saved my ass multiple times a few later when I was a teacher and was confronted with a bunch of very German-looking surnames on my roster on the first day of each semester. I butchered everybody else's name, but I always got the

I've read a few of her books and just finished LaRose. I don't remember any recurring characters from her other works. I think you could definitely read this one as an introduction to her work if it intrigues you!

That was my first introduction to her—a short story "Red Convertible" from Love Medicine. I read it a few years ago, and it made me seek out her other work and keep an eye out for her new releases.

I had the same thoughts. It actually took me years to like Gyllenhaal because that was the first thing I saw her in, and she didn't leave a good impression on me there.

Yeah count me as another one who had no idea this was a thing until reading this article.

I'd love to see Boothe on Game of Thrones! But for me he'd be a welcome addition on any show, really. :)

Thanks for the recommendations!

Kirkman is now walking back his statement:

Haha that's a great point! I don't remember hearing anything about anyone going after Jay Z.

Yeah, as far as I know, other than the album itself, it is all conjecture.

I'm so sorry about your cat!

Haha I started using my phone a lot too and finding mindless chores to do that suddenly became more engrossing than the show!

Which episode did you quit on?

With club sauce!

I just remember the story line about becoming zombies without being bitten, which I assumed was hinting at some origin story.

Yeah that's a pretty accurate assessment of my thoughts! That repetition and the characters' repeated boneheaded decisions were exactly why I stopped watching TWD.

Was it ever not a joke?

I agree with this!

For me, I think the narrative structure is so different on the two shows that what Kirkman says he'd do would probably work for TWD, but it would not work at all for G of T. (I say this as someone who has watched both shows, though gave up on TWD, but never read either of the source material.)

This probably makes me deficient as a woman, but the only thing I know about him is Dee Reynolds from It's Always Sunny loves him. So, every time I see his name, I just instinctively start chuckling and thinking of favorite quotes from that show.
