There seems to be a lot of people who don’t/can’t separate their positive feelings and ideas about Clinton from the reality that there are very real questions and charges against him and his personal actions

Because you’re just nobody.
Just another mediocre guy who failed upward and is destroying everything successful he touches. I would hope his career is over after this, but he will probably be promoted to something even bigger
I like how you transition directly from “what does science say” to a random quote from a fifth grade textbook.
Then hold onto your hat, because you’re about to be fascinated by the revelatory field of psychology and neuroscience known as “attachment theory”.
What Al Franken did was substantially worse. What she did is forbidden because you can never be reasonably certain about whether the consent is freely given or given out of fear but she’s not accused of ignoring someone’s consent. Al Franken is, on multiple accounts. I still agree with her resignation though.
I saw this on RM and I was surprised that Maddow and Farrow seemed satisfied with it. It’s such an obvious way of trying to get individual, advance notice of any employee who might bring allegations. Why not just announce that everyone is released from anything in NDAs that might prevent them from reporting sexual…
I assume the challenge in thinking is that there is also a revenge porn aspect. I can think it was bad that she had an affair with a subordinate and also think her ex-husband is a scum bag who should be prosecuted for leaking nude photos of her. But not everyone can hold multiple truths.
Ugggh. So her soon to be ex-husband choreographs a revenge porn campaign against her, and she resigns her position. Ugh.
The only thing that a man has to put in to be a father is about a teaspoon’s worth of work. Past that, the bar is pretty much set so low that “not abandoning your family” would cover the rest.
He was 15, she was 16 … in a relationship.
Well, that escalated quickly.
Same - I was so disappointed at Depp’s casting, I didn’t go see the second movie (even though I’ve been a big Harry Potter fan up to now). Rowling and her franchise really screwed up there.
Weird, isn’t it? In, say, 2003, I would have never guessed than in ten years I would completely reverse my positions on Colin Farrell and Johnny Depp. I used to roll my eyes at one and be interested in the film choices the other made. Complete switch over now.
It’s horrible - there was a collective groan and mutters of shock and disappointment in the cinema I was in when Farrell turned into Depp, and no one I know went to see the second one. Even if I was able to ignore what trash Depp is, it’s such a poor casting choice.
Why? I work in abortion care. I think it’s pretty fucking cute that a stranger heard that reply and was still excited to talk to me. It also cut the shit of getting to know someone only to find out they are anti-choice or squeamish about a legal and common medical procedure like you seem to be.
Mid-December, 2002. I was having a shitty month. I was broke and stressed and miserable and trying to give my kid a Christmas and I was supposed to be leading my UU Church’s Winter Solstice service but I’d flaked out because my life was a disaster. Walked in to the sanctuary and OH DAMN WHO IS THAT GUY? The hottest…
All kinds of reasons. She may have bought the house before she went to school. She may have inherited it. She may have acquired title in a divorce. In any event, you can’t assume it was a bad financial decision. In many areas, owning a home is significantly cheaper than renting (particularly in the long run,…
Exactly. You know how the CFPB made credit card companies put that handy little chart on the top of your statements that explains how long it’ll take you to pay off your balance and how much you’ll pay in total if you pay the minimum vs. a little bit more?
When the women accuse you of sexual misconduct, yeah, it’s synonymous.
