So is Zoey’s Infinite Playlist (or whatever) just a CxG clone right down to the Skylar Astin involvement? No, I will not watch it to find out until the internet tells me what to do.

My mom offered to provide food for my kid’s birthday party. It was catered entirely to my nephew (her obvious favorite). Whose fucking birthday was it?

Hmm...one other thing that the movies could not easily translate was the passage of time. Other than Frodo saying “it’s been x years since Weathertop” at the end, there is no indication that the journey took over a year and the whole story took place over decades. In the movie, Gandalf pops over to Minas Tirith and is

I think the show as a whole has been fine, but this episode definitely said that killing yourself can solve your problems. I assume Mike doesn’t know anyone who committed suicide.

So the show is basically advocating suicide?

Private schools have worse dress codes. Some even require that everyone wear the exact same thing. The difference is that you can easily elect not to go there.

Who is this “unfortunate” for?

I don’t think the Joker inspires any disturbed individuals to commit crime, but I happen to know many nerds who love the character for his “edginess”.

Her entrance in Endgame is cheap and obvious but I fucking LOVED IT. I legit clapped in the theater.

That may be genuine progressives doing that.

As an occupant of a man cave, I hereby declare that Captain Marvel is one of my favorite MCU movies.

The whole point of the doomsday clock is to get closer to midnight and generate conversation. It means nothing. We will not know when we are past the point of no return. We probably already are.

I’d sooner make my kids call everyone on the phone.

I have. I can feel the empty social obligation radiating off the card. They give me flashbacks to when I had to do them. I can only feel sorry for the poor soul who thinks they have to do this.

I hated it too. I have never been pleased to get a thank you card. Quite the opposite, I cringe at how this person apparently felt obligated to do this. When I was a kid they were absolute goddamn torture because I knew that they knew it was forced, empty sentiment. Yet my mom required it anyway.

Indeed, that scene in the book was more surreal than anything else, and yet the movie made it very material, to its detriment.
