This was a great interview. I was kind of weirded out by Kelly’s posture and body language. He kept his arms in the whole time. I’m not sure why microgravity would do that.

They leaked it to the YarNets weeks ago. So I hear.

What year is it!?

I made it through the first two. They try really hard to be GoT, but nothing much seems to happen. It is people in costumes standing around talking, like the last hours of a renaissance fair.

I thought I caught some nods to Buffy.

The real tragady with TFA toys is that so so many of them are aimed at the collector market, and so few kids can actually play with them. I got the top selling action figure set on Amazon for my kids, and half the figures fell apart the first day (Rey’s head fell off in the first hour). Lego is okay, but that shit

The great thing about science is that even a negative result is progress. The Wow! has always been an outlier attributable to many other things then alien life. This adds to the compendium of information that leads us forward towards enlightenment, and all the horrors or delights that reside within.

Fortunatly, the character he playes here is a lot like Sawyer, so you don’t have to change expectations much. I just hope they actually answer some questions about the weirdness going on. I’m guessing this got greenlighted due to the good reception of Wayward Pines.

I kinda liked it. Though I haven’t seen the original.

Just finished Three Moments of an Explosion. Some of it was brilliant. Some, not so much. Still, I enjoy seeing an author stretch their limits, even if it doesn’t always pan out.

I would recommend reading the Bas-Lag trilogy in order. Perdido Street Station, The Scar, and Iron Council. Though each of these books can stand alone in any order. I started with The Scar and was hooked.

TFA is nowhere near a shot-for-shot remake. I agree there was a lot of self referential naval gazing, but the Star Wars movies have always been about that. Even the original. Everything about the series is derivative. It is meta on top of meta on top of meta. Rancors all the way down.

Wm. Cannon and S. 1st. checking in. Haven’t seen a skeeter in months. Usually, I am like crack to them. Cold nights near freezing seem to be keeping them in check for the time being.

There is a Robot Chicken skit with their insurance agent in that.

I agree, but we have to remember JJA is taking on a multi-billion dollar franchise. He (or the producers) went safe. It worked. Biggest movie of all time. We can complain, but from a financial aspect it was the right decision. In a sense, he took one for the team so the other movies have room to breath. I’m sure it

Swansoned!

Phasma seemed less like a storm trooper and more like Breq in Ancillary Justice.

“The story starts Thursday when it was revealed M. Night Shyamalan...”

Nope. Austin. Though people are so afraid of ice that we will shut the whole town down just from the threat of it.
