Not so much the early movies, but Fury Road certainly did. The big sand storm. Green areas turning to desert. The last tree in Australia getting pulled out of the ground. In Fury Road, the most valuable thing wasn’t oil, but fertility.

Tank Girl is a great choice. I usually watch it about once a year along with Demolition Man and (old) Judge Dread.
