I would love to see something like that happen, and I would certainly contribute, though I have my hands too full with The AV Club After Dark to be involved with the logistics of starting it and making it viable. I think the main issue would be that to function, we'd want to use Disqus's subscription service for

Yeah, I'm not saying her behavior was great before or during the incident, just wanted to include that she was likely lashing out because she was actually being threatened and also felt terrible that other people were being threatened obstensibly because of her.

I have it 4 stars on Letterboxd, which I guess would most closely translate to a B, though I'd say B+ just for the performances and fantastic tension-building. And it definitely doesn't glamorize it: it's very dark and grim.

No sex at all, just some sex noises at one point. The violence isn't over-the-top but it IS disturbing, so I'd say it depends on the maturity of your kid.

I saw this last night and really liked it as a meditation on paranoia, family/"loyalty", and guilt. But gosh, I wish it hadn't been sold as a horror movie, because I have a feeling it will get a lot of backlash from audiences who go in expecting that and are disappointed. I'd call it more of a suspense than anything

Oh I don't doubt that they help a lot of people and would never blame anyone for making use of them when in need. They just have horrible policies.

That was my reaction. I mean, I don't blame the people ringing the bells, as I bet they aren't aware of that or making those decisions. But the organization itself? Bad and I'll never give it my money.

For me it's their habit of turning away LGBT homeless kids because they think they're sinners.

No worries! The Dunkin was giving away donuts. I think the SA were just taking advantage of the crowds by standing outside and soliciting donations.

I can't decide if that's better or worse or just equally bad!

Hells yes!

They were the ones collecting donations, at least where I was.

Yeah, something about the sugar in doughnuts specifically always makes me ill.

I have never heard of National Doughnut Day before today, when people were outside my work collecting donations. I did not donate, because fuck the Salvation Army.

I was actually getting that vibe off of snowpree above.

Well, somebody did!

As we all do.

Touché.

Anyway, as much as I wouldn't be sad at all if Trump died, prominent liberal celebrities should really not be calling for his death. They know what the backlash will be. They know what it will do to general credibility.

I'm more depressed that the fucking Secret Service has a Twitter. That doesn't seem very secretive.
