I was slightly tempted to do a rewatch, but I think twice on Oz is enough for me. It's so brutal!

Nah, if you don't wanna watch that (which is understandable!) don't watch the show, there's a lot of it.

Agreed, and it was mostly a good show so I hope it gets some people watching it who didn't know of it before.

I am the exact opposite and for some reason love drug stores. I think it's because that's where my folks would take me to get candy? I don't know. And this one is actually really nice and not at all grimy!

It's baffling and creepy. I try not to worry about it too much, but I do take screenshots of everything just in case.

True, but as the article discussed in the OP points out, that doesn't mean much when site admins won't do a thing about it.

That seems like a good plan!

Yup. Disenfranchised groups being too afraid to enter into that sphere is silencing, and the people who do the harassment often know that.

Yup, it's hard not to think that "it's okay to direct hate speech at minorities" isn't coded into their TOS.

I know! It just isn't worth it for me, after the whole Leftovers Review thing.

Oh and mine is pretty locked down! But I moderate a feminist page and the bile we get there is horrendous, but FB never does a thing. But they'll happily delete posts of ours that contain the word "rape"!

I hope that's the case. I know I miss out on some fun not being on Twitter, and I would with FB too.
I just hope this never becomes a place I no longer feel comfortable being. Things have definitely gotten worse lately for that.

I stopped giving them regular clicks after an article sympathizing with a female rapist, but I will read through articles like this that people link me too, especially if they use donotlink.

Anonymity isn't the issue. You should see some of the shit people have said to me and other women using their real names, with profile pictures of their children.

An ethical business. Which I know is an oxymoron.

Yup. this is a huge part of why I quit Twitter. It's already dangerous and scary enough to be an outspoken feminist online. I had to choose where to make my priorities, and a service where harassment and threats aren't taken seriously wasn't a place I was willing to stay. I'm considering quitting Facebook for the same

Mmmm…donut.
