Agreed on that, and I think that would be a super narrow way to define sex, so I hope that isn't what Blue means!

I know you weren't asking me this, but for me I certainly wouldn't call it sexless, but it'd be missing a kind of sex that's necessary for me to be happy in a relationship (if I'm with a dude. I'm bi, so if I was with a chick it would be different).

I was, though I worked for a couple other sites too. I consider SG pretty porny!

I have no idea what that has to do with it. This is a personal preference thing, not a nationality thing.

It's not up to my parents to decide if a person is worthy of my hand in marriage or not. It's up to me. My parents aren't the ones marrying them.

What? I'm not sure what about my statement implied that. No, in their mind asking would imply that they had some ownership over me. Obviously that isn't true of anyone, but that's how they (and I) feel about it.

I can understand that. My folks like social niceties too, but they'd probably suggest breaking up with anyone who asked permission for my hand in marriage.

There are lots of legal benefits to marriage above just cohabitating forever.

There's a whole AV Club article about it!

I'd argue that he was also ignoring the strength of Rebecca's feelings for him and what she was and had been doing about them. It's not about seeing the good in people, it's about refusing to see what's really going on because doing so would mean changing something. It's been easier for him to look the other way.

Do we think Josh made his move because he actually realized Rebecca is good for him (she isn't) or because he was upset and jealous? Because the latter is pretty cowardly in it's own way.

Yup, and both he and Josh are cowards. Just in different ways.

I also checked it out because "well, the AV Club gave it a good grade and the review is really well done!", so thank you!

That's pretty unfair. He has issues. Being an older student isn't something to be ashamed of.

Yeah, it's funny that the show keeps reminding us that our societal messages about romance are fucked up, but people keep buying into it by being "team" either one. That doesn't seem to be the point, at least to me!

We need a season 2 scene of Greg singing "You Stupid Bitch".

This is so perfect I just read this out loud to JaneSays. Thank you for summing it up so well!

Well, yeah, that's just Dan being squirrelly.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who immediately thought of this.

How so?
