Agreed - I recently watched several seasons - and for awhile it was entertaining..... and then it got tedious..... and the rapid fire dialogue was not witty just fast

My daughter sat at the next table to Drake at a restaurant about 6 months ago. She said it was a pretty horrifying experience. He berated the servers, talked loudly on his phone, dropped the F bomb continually and ignored his companion or made fun of her throughout.
Good question. I think that maybe they could have maneuvered around it a little - it still might have worked had it been portrayed as more consensual. It does set up several future important plot points ..... but still, I really don’t think it needed to be framed as an assault - which is the way we are seeing it…

I read the whole series of novels back in the 70's and quite frankly at the time it DID NOT OCCUR TO ME that he had taken her against her will - many of the “bodice ripper” novels of the time (and also many films) used this push/pull device to sex up the novel or movie. Don’t! Stop! Don’t stop!
