I don’t understand why Booksmart was released in May...the month is so stacked with blockbusters (Endgame, Pokemon, John Wick 3, Aladdin, Godzilla) that it just seems like the movie got set up for failure. Especially since the hype for it seemed to be at its highest when it debuted at SXSW over two months ago.

This season felt a bit aimless to me, but the finale retroactively fixed that. Carolyn’s subversion and exploitation of Eve/Villanelle finally made sense - and not in an overtly absurd way as I was dreading. I also wasn’t expecting Eve’s first kill to be so violent - I’m interested in seeing how they handle her trauma…
