Well, yes, but 40 years ago it used the fascist look to either shock (TG) or make an anti-fascist statement (Laibach) or for various other political motivations. 40 years later it's just a "cool band uniform", basically stripped of any deeper meaning than "hey look this makes me look all cool and edgy." It's sort of

Oh TOTALLY.

I'm sure it was fine, I just got three seasons in and decided I basically hated every character on the show.

Ha! OH SNAP!

Okay, I'll give you Beloved. That's a pretty badass track.

I appear to be the only person who thought Breathe Me was a saccharine, overwrought piece of teenage angst-poetry.

Okay, I'll give you "Beloved." That's a good 'un.

I always found VNV's lyrics to be basically just high school goth poetry. They're better than most industrial music (seriously, how many songs about Replicants do we need?) but I wouldn't qualify them as "good."

It's kidna weird when you think about it; the guy that gave us stompers like "Automotiv" is also Senor Coconut.

Uwe Schmidt is still recording under a variety of names these days. I've heard rumours that he's going to revive LB, but I dunno.

Probably the best place to start if you want to know what's going on in the scene right now would be the Electronic Saviors compilations. Plus the profits go to a good cause, so there's that.

Tom Ellard's blog is one of the best things on the internet.

Oh god, ClockDVA. YES YES a THOSUAND TIMES YES.

Tom is one of the single nicest guys I have ever met. Just…full stop. Not "nicest musician" or "nicest rivethead." He's a straightup great dude. His wife is super too.

Meanwhile every Euro-industrial act MUST listen to The Gothsicles' "English License" before they write English lyrics.

Chris Randall is sort of an entertaining asshole. And he makes good software now.

That was my nickname for the rather busty girl who used to show up to the clubs in a chainmail halter-top.

242 is doing a mini-tour this fall. Should be interesting. 24-year-old-me is freaking out about it.

He *did* get to work with Alan Wilder on some Depeche Mode remixes, and the last Architect album was just stellar. Highly recommended for Haujobb fans.

Really? VNV's been lampooned many, many times. "SWOOOORDS!" is a running joke that irritates Ronan to this day.
