I’m not saying it’s a good idea - but your examples don’t work.  The linked article specifically noted that principle residences (so, your house), and 401ks would be exempted.  

Per NPR this morning, “The tax proposal would apply to just about 700 taxpayers.” Unless you are one of those 700 I wouldn’t be too worried.

There is absolutely no plan to tax the 401k of middle class Americans, full stop. The threshold for the tax is tens of millions of dollars, but thanks for the scare tactics.

Oddly enough, as a regular person with a regular job, I pay quite a bit of my income in taxes, percentage-wise. Somewhere to the tune of nearly 30%, between federal and state (not including sales, etc.).

Absolutely. After all isn’t the old line that the suits are paid more because if something goes wrong it’s on them. Well something is definitely going wrong and all I’m hearing is “lazy overpaid dock workers”. It’s high time for corporate America to take a pay cut.

And since this is in some of the most expensive regions in the country, with one of the worst housing markets for people looking to put a roof over their heads, *SHIT WAGES* aren’t going to cut it.
