The entire right-wing of our nation has become an actual death cult.

If you haven’t figured out by now that the right sees lies as a legitimate weapon in their war against The Enlightenment I have some Kenyan birth certificates and Mueller sexual assault claims to sell you.

Star Trek has never been particularly successful as a film franchise. Oh, it’s had a few hits, but adjusting on its ratio for hits and misses, well, they’ve been at their best when they’ve been at their lowest budgets. (TWOK famously shot on roughly a TV production budget)

It’s almost as if Karl Rove’s entire ‘reality-based community*’ spiel was really taken to heart by conservatives, who now act as if they can bend nature to their will. Herman Cain and Jared Kushner both acted as if the virus would behave according to their expectations, with unsurprising results.

Buddy, i don’t know how you can walk away from an article that ends with an Albert Camus quote and think it’s putting a rosy spin on things!

Yeah, just mix all that together, add two cups of salt and a quarter cup of anticaking agent and you’re there.

The internet was a mistake.

How strong is the teachers' union in the US, because now seems like the time for a strike.

Plus, even though children don’t face as high a risk, Covid-19 can still be debilitating or deadly for them, too.  Being too cavalier about reopening schools is asking for sorrow.

it’s the FuckTrump and Cruella DeVos way to attempt herd immunity. It will FAIL and people will suffer and some will die. School facility closures are up to the states and school districts but the Feds do pump in a lot of cash, so they have leverage. Schools count students per day in classrooms to get funding and the

“I don’t know, I like _____, I just feel like he’s somebody I could have a beer with” is code for “I don’t like it when people are clearly smarter than me.”
