I think it’s fair to say that it’s not first on the list of thing they should try to fix going forward. It was their final opportunity to win the game, because they either fucked up or choose to forgo other opportunities.

When a pal of mine pointed out that the American Church wants there to be no governmental safety net so that they are the ones providing social security and thus consolidating their own power and influence, a lot of things started to make more sense to me.
