I really enjoyed the CW reboot of 4400 but it only lasted one season.

Yeah, but the multiple vaults and locations ensures you have a lot of freedom to tell different stories, even with the established lore and canon, so there’s a lot more freedom to create new characters, than say, something like Star Trek or Witcher.

I’ll always say I find manuals more fun and engaging but I’d never call them better. Better depends on the person and the task.
