Ha. That’s an interesting comparison. One random thing I liked about Dennis Miller was that he used esoteric political references that obviously were intended for the 2% of his audience that were insanely well-read.

“Do you know who I am?”
It was just some dick fondling.
The stuff with Franken was fucking stupid. The people who started banging the drum against him were not acting in good faith, but managed to make enough of a racket to get a sitting Senator to step down. It was basically a more successful version of what happened to James Gunn.
Well, that accounts for that Sunday, but how about apologizing for every other day you’ve existed
in the public sphere?
It’s disheartening to see such perverted, anarchic behavior associated with Beetlejuice.

Solid joke and I’m sorry for stepping on it, but honest I only know her from Joey.
Ah, I misunderstood. Because there have been some of these “just the swag, no game at all” CE’s in the last year, and people have said “omg, it doesn’t have the game!” about them.
If you remember The 70s show, you really weren’t there.
We actually have the largest freight network in the world. If it wasn’t run by shitty people, it would probably be even larger.
To nitpick, it was based on how Rogen and Goldberg interacted when they were teenaged boys a decade prior, but point taken. That said, just because something is accurately reflective of real-world behavior doesn’t mean it’s worth spending time on, and the notion that we’re supposed to find that kind of behavior funny…
His “reviews” were pathetic. A high school student with an intro to film course under their belt could write better reviews. They were incoherent ramblings. When I did frequent that site, it was for other writers, not Harry.
Yeah it sure is a surprise how anti-rape these comments are!
AV Club generously concedes that writing ill-advised letters and then half-heartedly apologizing for said letters is not, in fact, morally equivalent to literal rape.
It is part of the problem we have that nudity and sex is considered vastly worse than violence. Parents keep kids from media with nudity and sex but let them be exposed to as much violence as possible. We are a country of messed up violent puritanical prudes with gun fetishes.
There was a movie called “This Film is Not Yet Rated” about the secrecy and unaccountability of the MPA(A). One of the throughlines is that the MPAA just got increasingly drunk on PTA-energy and started slapping harsher ratings on foreign movies and nudity and gay kissing etc that made it harder to market films but…
“You maniacs! You neutered the G rating! Ah, damn you! God damn you all to hell!”
I was too young to grok what was going on in the teleporter scene when I first saw Star Trek. Thank God.
