The color choices when I bought my (2023) Pilot were pretty dire. I had a 2017 that was a nice dark green, but there was nothing like that available. I got red even though I’m not a red car guy at all. It was all the boring, basic colors and a blue that was only available on the TrailSport, which I wasn’t interested

It seems like people choose colors based on what’s most difficult to see when it’s raining heavily. Gray, silver, white, black... it might help a little if people actually turned their lights on when it’s raining (which is the law here) but alas.

That’s sizeable salamanders to you!

No mention of Operation Double 007? A film starring Neil Connery as MI6's top agent’s... brother, Dr. Connery, in a spy caper. It also had Lois Maxwell as Moneypenny Max, Adolfo Celi as Largo Mr. Thai, Bernard Lee as M Commander Cunningham, and Daniela Bianchi as Tatiana Romanova Maya, the film’s Bond Connery Girl.

Now playing

Doing it as an homage rather than a straight sketch-comedy parody would have a better chance of landing better, I think. And, of course, it would also depend on who’s writing/executing it. I like Jimmy Kimmel, but while he’s not Lonnie Donegan or anything some of his sketch stuff is pretty forced.

I could see a show doing a double-layered homage to finales by framing them with the amazing Six Feet Under montage but each individual segment is a do-over of some finale that fell flat featuring their own characters.

I don’t disagree in a vacuum, but since Lucas sold Lucasfilm we’ve had:

I don’t think we are. They just haven’t moved it over behind the paywall yet.

Yep. It’s only a matter of time before this site goes behind the Paste paywall (Pastewall?) with Jez and Splinter.

Eh, he has and makes enough money that he should at least be able to avoid the last step. But the rest are absolutely on the table.

That was exactly the comparison I made when I was talking to someone about this movie over the weekend. I think McGregor could’ve been fine-ish if they’d severely limited how much he had to talk. I kind of dug the character as a maniacal chaos gremlin but between his voice, performance, and that look he always had on

I didn’t realize at the time that what made that line so funny was that his wife was his manager.

Do you have a “let’s go” head nod? I truly do not.

We did have Venkman-less drafts but the execs on the project were convinced that it HAD to involve Venkman or people wouldn’t see it.

Hudson’s one objection to the 2016 movie is that he doesn’t really understand why Hollywood made that one instead of just making another Ghostbusters movie with the old Ghostbusters

“You know why we’re going to make a great Joker movie, Joaquin? Because we’re from the streets.”

He does. And John Lithgow is delightful so I think he’d be a hoot if he were to come back as well.

I’ve long thought that a TV series following a franchised Ghostbusters operation somewhere far away from New York could’ve had legs. Maybe something along the lines of Stargate Atlantis.

Maverick.

At least it tried to do something relatively new with the concept.
