I really hope it takes off. It’s still missing some features and there are a lot of scolds doing their thing, but it still feels like the closest thing to an actual Twitter replacement so far.

I love Scheer but I’d prefer Mantzoukas as a long-lost magical relative.

Hey, hey, spare a thought for all the brands who are suffering through Threads being down.

I still go back and revisit that clip. It was perfectly set up and perfectly executed, right down to Thor beaming as he said “I knew it.

They did a good job with the original Young Ducky (a show, by the way, that I’d watch), so hopefully they’ll pick someone at least as good in the appropriate age range for this show.

I live in the South but all of my American ancestors are from the Northeast. My great-great grandfather fought for the Union and even escaped from a Confederate POW camp in Alabama near the end of the war.

I would love to see a return to the Police Squad! version of Drebin rather than the Naked Gun version. The show was drier and delivered much straighter, like Airplane!. I enjoyed the Naked Gun films a lot, don’t get me wrong, it’s just that they went kind of broad with the comedy in a way that felt like a step down.

Yep. Same reason it worked so well for Sting.

I like this game!

The actress who played the Oompa Loompa that went viral said that she was originally told to give the kids three jellybeans but that was dropped to one when they started to run out.

I feel badly for the actors, too. Being a working actor is tough, and it sounds like none of them expect to get paid for this debacle. They wasted time that could’ve been spent on a real gig, or even preparing/auditioning for one.

Based on what we’ve seen so far, it feels like the Total Recall reboot from 2012. Take a movie that succeeded thanks in large part to its goofy charm and how well it leaned into it and then make a straight, sober retelling of the source material.

Yes! I loved Infocom packaging. Even for the more standard box designs, the pack-ins were usually awesome. “Leather Goddesses of Phobos” had a scratch-and-sniff card and a 3D comic book. “Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” had a bit of pocket fluff, orders both for the destruction of Arthur Dent’s house and for the

Lady in the Water is pretty much the platonic ideal of this for me, though moreso the teaser than the full trailer (which still made it look like a compelling film, in fairness).

It certainly would’ve been eyebrow-raising if she weren’t. There’s no reason to replace her performance-wise and she’s not a milkshake duck as far as I know, so not bringing her back could imply several different things, none of them good, like that they’re cheaping out like the old direct-to-video sequel days (which

You’d be able to use WiFi calling if you paid for the onboard WiFi, wouldn’t you?

That makes sense. I’ll take a look at my bill from a couple of months ago, when we had a long-ish outage for us (I’m very fortunate in that we don’t have a lot of power outages and when we do they’re most often relatively short) to see if it’s specifically indicated there.

I tried several different cameras before getting the Facecam and I wish that I’d started with that one. It is so good.

There’s still time for a Summer School follow-up. Kirstie Alley is no longer with us, of course, but most of the principals are. Chainsaw and Dave are still kicking, Courtney Thorne-Smith is still around and Patrick Labyorteaux has been on NCIS.
