They can call it The Supermans!
They can call it The Supermans!
I wonder if this is their first testing of the waters for unbundling Prime Video from the rest of Prime.
That’s the conservative playbook, though - every accusation is a confession.
She and I were apparently contemporaries at Syracuse. I never met her, or if I did I don’t recall - probably because I was actually a journalism major.
Also explain why Microsoft fired THE ENTIRE ABK SUPPORT TEAM, ONE OF THE BEST SUPPORT TEAMS IN THE INDUSTRY
its shitty the way its done in the US though
Maybe, maybe not. It’s Microsoft, they could not give less of a shit about the optics. This in no way impedes their effort to buy their way to supremacy in the gaming sphere.
I haven’t seen anything official, but there have been some unconfirmed reports that almost all of ABK’s internal customer support team was let go so they can use people in Elbonia instead, and several Community Managers across the three divisions were let go as well.
One baffling decision (I’m sure there are many, this is just the one I know about) is that they let the primary Community Manager for Fallout go. There are two now, one in the UK and one in the US.
The smart move would’ve been to proactively cast Jennifer Holland in every part of the old DCEU when they were considering bringing him on.
Exactly. They’d be using terms like “generous” to show off how benevolent they’re being. If I had to guess they’ll comply with the WARN act and keep people on for 60 days. After that, they’ll be on their own.
I got a great severance package when IBM laid me off in 2010 - six months of salary following 30 days to find a different job internally (which almost never happened, hiring managers were discouraged from hiring people who’d been RA’d).
When I worked at IBM, that’s how it always went - they got rid of the contractors first because they could do that with impunity and then moved onto full-time employees that they had to (well, “had to”) deal with more gingerly.
Feel bad for the people it impacts, but keep in mind that most of these 2200 were contract workers.
I was thinking that as well. There’s the WARN Act, but that doesn’t cover severance, just notification.
Spencer noted that this was a “painful decision” for Microsoft as a whole, clarifying that the company will “provide our full support to those who are impacted during the transition, including severance benefits informed by local employment laws.”
I loved Law & Order: UK. Even though they mostly (entirely?) recycled scripts from the original, they did a good job both of adapting the stories to fit the UK justice system and modulating the characters to fit the actors cast in the roles.
The problem with PS/2s (at least mine, I don’t recall if it was something across the entire line) was that it used Micro Channel Architecture rather than regular ISA cards so it was impossible or expensive to get expansion cards, even something as simple as a sound card or internal modem.
The rest of the week will be hosted by the show’s rotating door of correspondents, currently including Desi Lydic, Michael Kosta and Ronny Chieng and Jordan Klepper.
Jordan Klepper certainly fits into that mold.
