It reminds me of the ‘80s/’90s where we were supposed to suspend disbelief about how a giant, thick-muscled Austrian with a heavy accent just kind of blended in.

I figured maybe somebody created a mod that changed Vault Boy bobbleheads into these.
I love Cavill and I’m sure he’ll do a great job if this does end up happening, but part of the charm of the original for me was that Connor was a pretty ordinary-looking dude, which helped him blend in for all those centuries and also what helped sell how being an immortal made him special and a total badass.
At first I thought you were saying “Gross. I mean, I’ll buy it, but...”
The most common answer when you ask a rich (or even moreso a wealthy) person “how much money do you need” is “more.” There are exceptions, certainly, but it’s difficult to turn off that mindset.
Indeed, one of my friends was fortunate enough to have caught a “widow maker” blockage before having a heart attack. It certainly would’ve killed him, and he was right around that age. And it worries me because I’m not far off that age now myself. There’s no history of heart disease in my family other than my paternal…
I’ve also heard that it isn’t about royalties but more that he was upset that his wife (along with Richard Chew and Paul Hirsch) won an Oscar for editing but he didn’t win Best Director and he was driven in large part by pettiness.
That’s not too far off my take. I’m totally on-board with fixing things like the matte boxes around X-Wings and TIE Fighters and whatnot, and I could even probably tolerate some minor additions/changes like the Sarlacc pit. Where I draw the line is actually changing things, like you mentioned with getting rid of “Yub…
The versions of the OT that have come out of the 4K77 project are pretty darn good. If Lucas and now Disney don’t want to provide a legal way to get modern-quality versions of those films, well, yarrrrr.
Welp, I guess this is another thing Idiocracy called, though it was Costco in the movie rather than Amazon.
Why does it show letters on the odometer?
Apparently not. I have an physical copy of the XBox 360 version of “Lollipop Chainsaw” yet it can’t be played on a Series X via backward compatibility because of “licensing issues.”
That was the first time I saw her, and I agree! She was a lot of fun with great enthusiasm and fit the mold very well.
It’s both ridiculous (in a good way) and amazing not only that they’re still doing this, but that RiffTrax split off with some of the original folks and is also out there doing great stuff.
I figured that was what they were going for. What that ends up doing is making the experience totally hollow/artificial/vapid, and it seems like that’s a feature and not a bug for Meta.
Yeah. They didn’t understand that people didn’t want Instagram wearing a trenchcoat, they wanted something like Twitter was pre-Musk or even, ideally, that but with at least some of the toxicity excised.
I live in North Carolina. Our plates haven’t been redesigned since 1983, which is lampshaded by the ultra high-tech, futuristic font the state’s name is rendered in:
“If there isn’t a Skywalker in a scene, someone should be asking ‘where’s Skywalker?’”
If shows like On Patrol: Live and COPS are any indication, not having a license isn’t much of a hindrance to getting behind the wheel.
