Second the recommendation for Masters of DooM. Very cool book with lots of insight into not just the creators, but the industry at the time and the game itself.
Great article Heather. My Grandpa had a stroke, and my Aunt was dying of cancer. I spent a lot of days holding hands, talking to people who maybe didn’t hear, or know who I was (moments of clarity were few and far between for my aunt), being present and just making sure they knew I loved them.
That’s fair enough, I hadn’t considered that, thanks for pointing it out.
On top of that, the segment in Underworld has her start out swimming/diving off a boat out in the ocean, it’s at least a semi-plausible outfit for the scenario.
For real. That series just grew stronger as it went on. Ending on a cliffhanger was a damn shame.
Technically, this wasn’t breaking the law, it was working within the system legally.
I really liked it once it got going, and I’m bummed they never continued it.
I really honestly love the movie as it’s own take on the material. It has some fantastic comedic timing, with smart uses of framing and expectations that could really only be pulled off in film.
I was going to make the joke that surely he meant Tron Uprising.
There’s a difference between dedication and obsession though, and the examples you give are being dedicated to something.
I dunno, I played games as a kid, but I also had pretty strict boundaries, with games and television (I was given maybe an hour and a half of screen media a day, but got to chose to distribute it between TV or games. Media ratings were strictly stuck to), but they were never held out of reach or put on a pedestal. I…
As an avid handheld gamer, I’m astounded by how much I use the dock for the Switch. Removing (well, integrating and stripping down I guess) the $80 controllers, and removing the $70 dock doesn’t make the Lite seem that enticing.
Also, couch co-op/built in co-op with the standard Switch is gonna be rad.
We’ve got an air fryer and a toaster oven, for frozen foods, nothing else is needed.
Yeah, I didn’t even make it through the opening dialogue scenes, but the framerate was real bad. I hope the final release isn’t that bad.
No Expansions. The Switch version is Vanilla Civ VI. Release of the expansions is “planned” but that’s all there’s been on it so far.

Yeah, we have another dog now (this is his first 4th of July), and I really don’t know if it would work for him, it really depends on the dog.
Anecdotal evidence for the Thundershirt, I had a dog that loved her Thundershirt to the point she’d go to where it was stored if thunder or fireworks started and wait for someone to put it on her. It worked wonders for her.
You’re 100% right. If you love someone, wanting them to do better, or be better is common sense. Patriotism is just that same concept applied to this country. I’m proud of who I am, and where I come from, but we can do a hell of a lot better across the board.
Welp, you’re right, thanks for the heads up.
