My maternal great-grandmother had her 17th child in 1921 at 45 years old 7 years after immigrating from eastern Germany to Baltimore then to Alpena Co. Michigan with about 6-8 of those 17 children in tow.

This is exactly how I’d describe the 1987 Plymouth Colt 2dr hatch I had from 16 yrs old to 21 (1994-1999). All that time spent in Michigan NE lower MI and then Ann Arbor). It was generally ok for daily town driving. Was a bit harrowing at interstate speeds, but was great in the snow.
