I agree season 4 was not as strong as the first three.

I don't know if it was here or somewhere else, but I read something about how Iannucci liked to 'find the episode' in the editing and Mandel relies more on having the rhythm locked down in the script. Maybe this is the area where it's not working so well for me. Like it had more breathing room to be unpredictable…
I worried about that myself, honestly. But Silicon Valley still makes me laugh.
Yes I think I alluded to that.
What am I missing here? I have been one of Veep's biggest fans since the beginning, and loved In the Loop and The Thick of It before that. This season is just not making me laugh. I'm genuinely perplexed why I don't see more comments about it. I mean, that's great people still feel it's so strong because I want this…
T.J. Miller's delivery of that line gave me the most laughs of the season so far.
It was a good episode, and yes the review was flippant. However, I'm finding Norwalk's review writing to be generally frustrating.
He learned almost too late that man is a feeling creature…
You're not the only one. I feel like the show has lost an important dimension this season. While watching it I have this vague sense that it is following its own blueprint in a way that is less clever somehow. I still like watching the great cast, but have been laughing way less than I used to. I don't want to take…
I totally agree, except to say that he is not playing behind the beat. What makes the drums so key to the track is how he rides on top of the beat, and pushes even further ahead in a lot of spots, adding to the anxiety of the track. The synth clap-y sound rushes sometimes and that makes his snare sound behind…
It may not be the episode's funniest moment or anything, but I just wanted to give a shout-out to JLD's mad skillz, perfectly demonstrated by the change in her expression when Selina is informed the kayak team won bronze, not gold.
It's true there has been a bit of a shift in the show's voice, but as worried as I was by Iannucci leaving I am still thoroughly enjoying it.
He tries to tag on a little wink-wink at the end, but it's far too little, too late.
I was going to post that the song by itself is just super lame, but the video rockets it into the hate-o-sphere.
Probably with low expectations for anything that isn't a music scene.
Also, I hope the Sign O' the Times concert film gets some kind of proper release.
The one time I saw this in a movie theater was in Germany in 1985, and all the dialogue was dubbed in perfect High German. Imagine that for a moment. What a mind-fuck.
BOOM!
Actually, Waltz #1
Maybe you're right about "most people." My experience, however, was direct and protracted. I don't want to diminish your proud Mr. Snotty-Snot moment, though.
