I agree to a point. I think she goes into contemporary R&B on other albums, too. Prime Time is straight up Top 40/Adult Contemporary. It’s also good. I think it’s more that she was a Chameleon on the Archandroid, and a little bit on The Electric Lady too. She could make any style sound cool and interesting. Also, I

I loved The Archandroid. I liked The Electric Lady a lot. Dirty Computer was a subpar album for Janelle Monae. I do like that she’s getting a lot of press (she deserves it), and the visuals that go along with the album are great, but most of the songs (including this one) sound like she’s trying too hard for mass

Having read half of 1Q84, stopping mostly because of Murakami’s unsettling yet tediously repetitive fixation with female body parts and sex acts,  I would not be surprised if the context doesn’t really improve that quote.

In case you missed it/were wondering, the Sitar in the beginning was definitely playing Seven Nation Army.

A new Courtney Barnett album, now a new Janelle Monae. Good week for new album announcements. I can’t wait.

Actually, voters across the United States, mostly not in NYC, gave us Donald Trump. He was just fucking born here. You can fuck right off with your blame game false associations.

Allow me to quote poetry in describing how much I miss Abbi and Ilana:

It was a comment by somebody who always comments on episodes of the show, and seemed to consistently watch it even as he/she continued to hate it/hate on it.

Did you hatewatch the whole damn series, secretly hoping it would answer these questions?

Counterpoint: Keep It Like A Secret is BTS's real classic album and holds up extremely well. It shows off both the epic long prog chops from Perfect from Now On and the great pop writing from their first couple of records. If you don't like guitar riffs or Doug Martsch's, well, don't listen to them. But as far as

I find the key to omelets is the right size pan and the right number of eggs.

Do you use them to transmit data back to earth? I bet you do, you freaky old bastard you.

Ditto on the music, especially Paint it Black. I gave Black Hole Sun a pass, as it sort of seemed like an Easter egg, and it didn't seem to ruin the tone. The tone of the shootout, however, was completely ruined for me.

A.V. Club done fucked up.

I can't stand ANCO's music, but props to them for being great people. To each their own. That's a really standup thing to do for your fans.

Oh god, the clashing of the music playing over the video with the movie scores. MAKE IT STOP!!!

That would be C/G. There is also the version where you put your pinky on the high E string (highest pitched). Or is that the one you meant? Both are pretty chords.

Fmaj7, brah.

Not that the music section has been anything big for a few years now, but:

Dear A.V. Club,
