The issue is that the middle seat passenger now has a straight shot at the window and aisle passengers in the following row. They aren’t directly in front of you, but they would absolutely be line-of-sight.

Where I live the courts have already said they will not hear any challenges to these restrictions. If someone wants to go above the State Supreme Court to the federal level, by the time they work there way through the system, the pandemic will be over.
